lives of transvestites

Transvestite’s literal meaning is someone who dresses up in the manner and tradition of the opposite sex or gender. Earlier, transvestites were those people who were naturally born female impersonators, but nowadays, they dress up for the sake of dressing up like women and attract attention.
I was watching this show on transvestites the other day. The host was interviewing them and asking about their lifestyle. They said how people get scared of them. They cant use public transport, since in Pakistan buses have two sections, one is for males and the other for females, so when they sit in the females section the ladies are scared and when they sit in males section the men tease them and make it impossible for these people to travel by public transport. So they are forced to use taxis or auto rickshaws. They tried to go in a beauty salon for facial and makeup but the workers didn’t let them in, said they were scared of them, even though they pleaded the girls working in that parlor to let them in but they were not allowed to enter that doorstep. Now these men-cum-women are forced to do all their beauty treatments at home.
Living this way is really very hard when neither men nor women befriend you; instead they either tease you or are scared of you. The thing I don’t get is, why would any man want to change his sex? I mean isn’t male gender said to be stronger and more prominent one? Then why would you want all your freedom to go in trash? What good is it doing to you or your life?
I feel sorry for the transvestites but this is their own doings. No body forced them to dress up like women and lose their freedom. I hope the people around them mellow towards them a bit and learn to respect and befriend them.
