my super girl

Fatty wanted to wear her swimsuit when it was 2 or 3 degree celsius outside.

my super girl - her daddy bought her a bib and she was unwilling to take off and insisted on becoming what she thought was a birdie when she saw superman with her dad.

shopping lists

Some people think that shopping lists are an essential piece of paper while going to the shopping mall. I think that they are merely a distraction. Whenever I’ve made a list I’ve never bought the things according to it. My trolley ends up with the things I would, most probably, not need for, at least, the next 4 weeks.

Lists, in my opinion, are hardly helpful. I, for one, get so confused the minute I step in a grocery store. Things start to float in the air in front of my eyes and I end up buying things that come my way.

I usually forget to carry along my shopping list and then I roam around the store from aisle to aisle in search of things that I was set out to buy. And my husband sits in the car, babysitting Fatima a.k.a. Fatty (my baby girl), while she gets all cranky, he gets all mad, and starts to honk his horn in order to express his anger towards me. As I am busy searching for things in the aisles and taking all the time in the world to buy just a little stuff.

If I’ve gone to buy a face wash for myself I end up buying a baby shampoo and body wash for Fatty, deodorant for my husband and few sweets and candies for my darling baby, which sends the check, at the cash register, rocketing to the sky.

If I go to buy clothes for Fatty I end up spending way more than I intend to. I love buying clothes for her and she loves wearing and choosing among them. That big grin I receive the minute she sees her stuff is worth it all.

I am not much of a shopper but I do takeout time to go shopping as it gives me the idea of latest things available in the market. This keeps me updated with the world developing so fast that you miss track after you have kids.

air conditioners(AC) - the best thing ever

Air conditioners, most commonly known as an AC, are the greatest things ever produced in this day and age. The temperatures are raising so quickly I mean it’s just the end of April and the temperatures have already raised to 42 point something degree Celsius.

It’s impossible to sleep without an AC these days and even at nights it has to be turned on. My two-year-old has gotten so used to the light rumbling of one that if I at some point during the night turn off the AC she wakes up and asks me to turn it back on.

Right this minute as I am typing away on my laptop my room AC is rambling on.
The temperatures all over the world have been disturbed and a lot has been done by the environmentalists, but it is us who has to be responsible for our environment. It is not a duty of any one conservationist to go green.
I know turning AC on is not exactly going green but I do try my best to do what I can to keep my surroundings clean.

hypocrites

Hi all! I went to a gathering today, there were a lot of women and what I saw among all those beautifully dressed and gracefully decked up ladies were two-faced people. Hypocrisy! They were constantly being sweet to the hostess and gave outrageous remarks behind her back. I hate such people. One thing I don’t understand is why people need to pretend to be good friends where as, in actual, they are jealous of you.

Sincerity makes the very least person to be of more value than the most talented hypocrite.
Charles Spurgeon

How can you be two-faced person, it’s beyond me. From where do people learn such politics? They are eating with you, laughing with you and they even try to help you out through your bad times but still their hearts are filled with resentment and deceit. They are trying to win your heart but at some point they will show their true color.

The only thing worse than a liar is a liar that's also a hypocrite!
Tennessee Williams
The problem is that we can not recognize such people. There is no punishment for being a hypocrite. No one can be aware of such frauds until they are forced to be in acquaintance with such people.

The only vice that cannot be forgiven is hypocrisy. The repentance of a
hypocrite is itself hypocrisy.
William Hazlitt

prostitution - the social taboo

Prostitution is a taboo culture of sex-trade in a society that is present as an open-secret. Its illegal but all high authority officials are aware of this curse on a healthy society but nothing is being done to shut down such organizations. This is also because of the policemen who are being paid by the pimps or what ever you call them. These men don’t raid their brothels which is what they get paid for.
Prostitution is not just a service industry, mopping up the overflow of male demand, which always exceeds female supply. Prostitution testifies to the amoral power struggle of sex.... Prostitutes, pornographers, and their patrons are marauders in the forest of archaic night.
CAMILLE PAGLIA, Sexual Personae
There are two type of female prostitutes one are those girls who are abducted, kidnapped or lured in to this industry and the other type are those who go in to this business for the sake of earning money.
Prostitution exists today because women are objectified sexually, and because it is considered more permissible for men than for women to have purely sexual experiences.
RUTH MAZO KARRAS, Common Women
We say in these days that slavery has been vanished from this modern world but this; prostitution is a very major type of slavery. This slavery is of women; they are either forced to or willingly sell their bodies out of wedlock.

We say that slavery has vanished from European civilization, but this is not true. Slavery still exists, but now it applies only to women and its name is prostitution.
VICTOR HUGO, Les Misérables

The only way to stop this trafficking in and profiting from the use of women's bodies is for prostitution to be legalized. Legalization will open it up to regulation; and regulation means safety. As some of the women have HIV/AIDS and are unaware of it. So this way they will be tested for such diseases and will be given cure instead of ignoring the disease they will be treated properly.

yogurt and cheese

Yogurt and cheese are the two yummiest dairy products which are liked by people of all age groups. Who would have thought that you can make yogurt and cheese from sour milk?
I was sitting at my mom’s place and was eating water melon; suddenly a thought struck me that who would have thought of planting fruits like water melon and so many other kinds. It’s amazing that these things being so popular in today’s world were invented, discovered, made or in the case of fruits, planted such a long time ago.
Have you ever wondered what made a simple man come up with an idea of lighting up fire, preserving sour milk to cheese or yogurt and so many other uncountable things?
Human mind has never failed to amaze me. It has evolved so much over the years, or say centuries. Man has been blessed with such a great gift from God, if only he would use that gift in order to bring peace in this disturbed era of political instability.

lives of transvestites

Transvestite’s literal meaning is someone who dresses up in the manner and tradition of the opposite sex or gender. Earlier, transvestites were those people who were naturally born female impersonators, but nowadays, they dress up for the sake of dressing up like women and attract attention.
I was watching this show on transvestites the other day. The host was interviewing them and asking about their lifestyle. They said how people get scared of them. They cant use public transport, since in Pakistan buses have two sections, one is for males and the other for females, so when they sit in the females section the ladies are scared and when they sit in males section the men tease them and make it impossible for these people to travel by public transport. So they are forced to use taxis or auto rickshaws. They tried to go in a beauty salon for facial and makeup but the workers didn’t let them in, said they were scared of them, even though they pleaded the girls working in that parlor to let them in but they were not allowed to enter that doorstep. Now these men-cum-women are forced to do all their beauty treatments at home.
Living this way is really very hard when neither men nor women befriend you; instead they either tease you or are scared of you. The thing I don’t get is, why would any man want to change his sex? I mean isn’t male gender said to be stronger and more prominent one? Then why would you want all your freedom to go in trash? What good is it doing to you or your life?
I feel sorry for the transvestites but this is their own doings. No body forced them to dress up like women and lose their freedom. I hope the people around them mellow towards them a bit and learn to respect and befriend them.

Dr. Afia Siddiqui

Freedom is a gift of God for all living things. If you cage an animal it goes wild and thrashes around until it is tranquilized so how can a human being be caged as man is the best of God’s creatures.

Dr. Afia Siddiqui is one such person who has been in imprisonment for over five years. She was captured in 2003 when she was on her way to Rawalpindi from Karachi. Pakistani intelligence agency CIA handed her over to the USA intelligence agency FBI. At the time she had four children with her and they too were arrested along with her. The agencies claimed for her to be in contact with al-Qaeda, the terrorist group run by Osama bin Laden. Later both the agencies denied that she has been arrested and so from then on we have no idea as to where she’s kept as prisoner 650. There have been news that she’s been kept in Bigram, Afghanistan, where she has been tortured to the point where she has lost her mind. Dr. Afia is a highly educated and a learned woman. She was mentally and physically abused. In my opinion, she’s had enough punishment for what ever crime she might or mightn’t have committed. So, in the last five years Dr. Afia has had enough share of facing all the torture and cruelity that has been thrown her way by the authorities, the people who are responsible for safeguarding the rights and lives of the civilians.
Below is the link where I would like to plead you all to start your petition for her freedom.

Ultimately we know deeply that the other side of every fear is a freedom.

sexism in the third world countries

Hi all, have u ever wondered why women in third world countries, like our beloved Pakistan, Bangladesh and India, wear abayas, veils or burqas without knowing the real reason of wearing one or not knowing the importance of its compulsion in Islam? Actually, you see, the men folks of these regions are sexist pigs. Women in any dress, be it revealing or a full veil, will be stared at for the longest periods of time. Men, in these countries, are so mentally sick their stare will make you feel as if you are naked even though you've draped yourself from head to toe in piles of clothing. Frustration in menfolk has been increasing during the past few years. They are ready to pounce on any female creature be it an adult or a three-month-old baby. When i came across this news that a depressed and addicted father raped his three-month-old daughter i was so shocked as this young a baby is so delicate how can he even think of doing it. Its beyond me. So many cases were thrown in the limelight so that public would seek such men and execute them for their animality. One such case was of Mukhtaran Mai who went public, took her appeal to the media as she knew no one in the government was going to help her instead they would make her their prey, so she wisely chose her steps by going on media this way she was given justice and not only that, but also she was taught and groomed and now she runs an NGO for such women. I salute the media for their role in this case has been undeniably marvellous. The real problem is that women, after this accident get so scared and their parents start pledging them their family honour, dont come up and launch their complaints instead they learn to live with this crucial truth for the rest of their lives. My message is that all you abused girls should go to the authorities so they can catch these people and punish them and it is your duty to save your fellow women from such an inhumane activity. It is said that
Life lived in fear is a life half lived.

screaming toddlers

You know what? Toddlers look very cute and adorable when asleep, lost in their dream world of fairies and GOD knows what else. I guess candies and sweets. When they are fully awake and in THE mood they are quite handful, be it one or more. I, myself have a daughter who is 28 months old and god shes adorable but there are times when she becomes a devil and it is then that i feel that she'd grow up real quick. I have seen many supernanny programs and the type but when the time comes, nothing helps. You have to take matters in your own two hands and deal with the crisis you feel most suitable. What I do, when my baby starts her screaming session, is that I ignore her completely and let her scream all she wants. When she sees that I am not paying attention she stops within a couple of minutes and if I make a fuss she keeps on screaming for good fifteen minutes. Punishing, in my opinion, this young a child is brutal. Its really not what i'd do to my baby maybe after shes three i would consider that but not now when she is just trying to figure out what is world and the people around her.
